US Army Ranger and Special Forces Green Beret Jeff Ademic on PTSD and Mental Health in the Military

Tony Overbay interviews Jeff Adamec on the topic of PTSD the negative stigma associated with discussing mental health challenges in the military. Jeff served in the United States Army as a Ranger and a Special Forces Green Beret for 18 years. He had 6 tours of combat to both Iraq and Afghanistan where he conducted Special Operations missions. He has been awarded a Silver Star (The Nations 3rd Highest award) 4 Bronze Stars, an Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for valor, and a Purple Heart among many others. in 2009 he was wounded during combat operations in Afghanistan and suffered a broken back, and a traumatic brain injury. He later was diagnosed with PTSD and was eventually medically retired from service in 2013 after 18 years on active duty.
